About us

Welcome to Holy Commotion! – Truro

“This is Church, but not as we know it!”

Holy Commotion is “St. Paul’s Church in the School”. Since 2007 we have been meeting regularly at 6.30pm on alternate  Wednesdays at Archbishop Benson CEVA School, Bodmin Road, Truro, for worship because our parish church is closed.

Holy Commotion is specifically for families with young children who would like to attend church but feel unable to do so because they feel uncomfortable in church or fear their children might disrupt the service by being too noisy or active! If you are interested in exploring more about the Christian faith and wish for your children to learn more, but are nervous about visiting a church – Holy Commotion is for you!

We meet in the hall at Archbishop Benson CEVA Schhol, Truro, fortnightly and the format is informal with children’s activities within a short half hour family service. The emphasis is on fun and activities to enthuse the children and adults who ofetn join in!

Both Holy Commotion and "Together in Worship" provide, we believe, "access points" to the Christian faith - based on the the early Church model of gathering, worshipping, sharing and eating and drinking together! Hence the fact that we include social events in our programme throughout the year!

At Holy Commotion we welcome families with primaray age children including babes in arms. See our Facebook page or visit our "Home" page under 'Latest News'  for up to date information on “what’s happening”!

Holy Commotion meets on Wednesdays but running alongside Holy Commotion is "Together in Worship" at St. George's!

Together in Worship at St. George's

"Together in Worship" meets at St. George's Church every fourth Sunday. We begin with breakfast in the church hall from 10.00am and this is followed by a half hour informal family service in church at 10.30am.

Both Holy Commotion and "Together in Worship" are wonderful ways to meet new, like minded friends.
